How to Free Disk Space on the Server

Use the instructions in this topic to free up disk space on the ExtremeCloud IQ Site Engine server.

There are a variety of files you may no longer need that reduce available disk space on your ExtremeCloud IQ Site Engine server.

To free disk space on an ExtremeCloud IQ Site Engine server:

  1. Navigate to the <install directory>/.installer directory.
  2. Delete all files in the folder.
  3. Navigate to the <install directory>/backup directory, where ExtremeCloud IQ Site Engine stores database backups.
  4. Delete any database backups you no longer require or move them to another server.
  5.   NOTE: The backup file name contains the date in a format you configure on the Administration > Options > Database Backup tab. Delete or move the oldest backup files first.

You can configure the number of backups ExtremeCloud IQ Site Engine saves on the Administration > Options > Database Backup tab.
  6. Navigate to the <install directory>/appdata/logs directory.
  7. Delete any log files you no longer require or move them to another server.
  8.   NOTE: Log file names contain the date in a format you configure on the Administration > Options > Alarm/Event Logs and Tables tab. Delete or move the oldest log files first.

You can configure the number of log files ExtremeCloud IQ Site Engine saves on the Administration > Options > Alarm/Event Logs and Tables tab.
  9. Ensure there is now enough available disk space on the hard drive.
    • If you require additional disk space on a virtual ExtremeCloud IQ Site Engine server, you may need to add drive space.
